Harvest a break for farmers
12/12/2008 | HARVEST is well under way around Harden with almost 90 percent of canola and a good proportion of the district’s wheat off the paddock and it is shaping up to be a good result for most farmers. After a slow start as headers and trucks were stranded up north with the rains, there is now a surplus of contractors, getting in to get the wheat off the paddocks fast.

4/12/2008 | Volunteers from the South Coast and Capital regions were recognised at a ceremony held at the Council Chambers in Harden last Friday. Regional award ceremonies are held in 16 regions across NSW to recognise and celebrate the vital role that volunteers play in their communities.

28/11/2008 | At the November Council meeting a late report by the General Manager concerning 25 Iris Street Murrumburrah was tabled. Prior to the meeting councillors had met at the residence in question to help them to get a better understanding of the condition of the property.

Top selection for Polocrosse players
18/12/2008 | JUGIONG Polocrosse players Will and Todd Weston have reached the top levels of their chosen sport, recently selected in the Australian National Open Mixed Polocrosse team following a very successful year. Will, who was also named vice-captain of the side and his brother Todd gained selection following brilliant performances at the Australian National Titles in Perth in October where they played in the NSW Open State side.
Harden attends regional swimming carnival
12/12/2008 | TEN young and enthusiastic swimmers from the Harden Swimming Club travelled to Cootamundra on the weekend for the first regional carnival of the season. For little Ellie-Rose McCarthy (7), James Daley (6) and both Caleb (10) and Hannah Madden (8), this was their first ever competitive swimming event and each got a lot out of the experience.
