Harden Polocrosse Tournament 2008

Last weekend, Harden held their Annual Polocrosse tournament at the Harden racecourse. With a lot of work from club members and volunteers the carnival ran very smoothly. Harden had three teams playing on the weekend but none were successful in winning.

Results from the weekend was The Delta Agribusiness Sub Junior competition won by Emily Maurer, Isaac Martin and Kelvin Parr, with a rug won by Emily Maurer from Harden for the best horse and rider. The Peter Beal Memorial A grade competition was won by the Jugiong side beating Tumut 12 goals to 9, with the prize for best horse and rider combination being awarded to Todd Weston from Jugiong. The GilGal Pastoral Company A-mixed competition was won by Lake George beating Wagga Wagga 15 goals to 10, the best horse and rider rug went to Carly Peeck from Wagga Wagga. The Brian Carruthers Co. A reserve competition was won by the NSW Junior team, beating Jugiong 15 goals to 9, and the best horse and rider rug went to Murray Scott from North West Plains. The NSW Junior side come together on the weekend from all over NSW to have a team run in preparation for the Nationals being held in Perth this October. Also Cameron Smith and Kevin Bradford from the Harden club are off to Perth to play for NSW with Cameron in the junior side and Kevin in the over 50’s side, we wish them the very best in their preparation and for the competition,

The Custom Accounting B grade was won by Orange beating Yass 11 goals to 8, the best horse and rider rug went to Laurie DeBritt from Yass. The Oxton Park C grade was won by Albury beating Jugiong 5 goals to 4 the best horse and rider rug went to Sarah Grills from Albury.

The Col and Margie Reid trophy for the most improved junior in the Harden Club went to Emily Maurer and the Kevin Dunn memorial trophy for the most improved club player went to Jack Hedlund.
